Swiss Re has updated its Life Guide underwriting manual to help insurers provide coverage for people living with HIV, reflecting medical advances that have transformed HIV into a manageable chronic condition. Since 2022, 370 companies in 76 countries have used the revised guidelines to underwrite policies for individuals with well-managed HIV. The company also introduced Life Guide Scout, an AI tool that helps underwriters quickly access guidance and make evidence-based decisions, reducing errors and delays. The updated manual provides standardized methods to assess HIV risk accurately and offer fair pricing, aiming to expand access to life insurance for millions worldwide.
LifeSearch, a UK-based protection advice firm, has become the first company to embed a fully digital trust solution into a self-serve life insurance journey, allowing customers to place online-purchased policies directly into trust. The solution, delivered in partnership with Trust Genie and Yavia, enables seamless trust creation during purchase, ensuring payouts reach intended beneficiaries quickly and with minimal tax exposure. This integration addresses a market gap, as fewer than one in five UK life policies were written in trust in 2023, particularly affecting unmarried under-45 couples. The LifeSearch app provides guidance, digital signing, and automated submission, supporting faster claims settlement and compliance with Consumer Duty principles. The move highlights LifeSearch’s commitment to innovation, customer protection, and improving outcomes in the life insurance market.
Wysh Life & Health Insurance has partnered with Beem to embed life insurance directly into Beem's digital wallet subscriptions, Beem Life Plus and Beem Life Pro, making protection more accessible to millions of Americans. The integration allows users to manage deposits, spending, bills, and life coverage in one seamless experience, with no separate applications or exams required. By combining Wysh’s insurance with Beem’s smart wallet and AI-driven tools, the partnership targets gig workers, families, and people with non-traditional incomes who are often underinsured. This collaboration creates a practical model for delivering “protection-as-a-feature” within everyday digital finance. It aims to close a coverage gap, giving users a simple path to safeguard their loved ones while managing short-term cash flow needs.
