EasyJet issues travel insurance warning for European destination

EasyJet has warned UK travellers flying to Georgia that new entry rules will require valid travel insurance from 1 January 2026. Visitors must hold health and accident insurance covering the full stay, with minimum coverage of GEL 30,000, and be able to present the policy in English or Georgian at the border. Travellers who fail to show proof of insurance may be denied entry. The measure aims to improve visitor safety and reduce uninsured medical emergencies. UK authorities also note that there is no reciprocal healthcare agreement with Georgia, meaning treatment must be paid for privately.

ERGO launches partnership with Lifecard Travel Assistance

ERGO Reiseversicherung has entered a strategic partnership with Lifecard Travel Assistance, effective from 1 December. The two German companies will jointly develop new travel insurance products and drive innovation in the sector. While Lifecard will continue to design its own travel protection packages, it will leverage ERGO’s support to expand its product architecture. Lifecard also plans to launch an enhanced travel insurance offering and pilot the use of AI to improve internal processes and customer value.
