Zurich has appointed Blain Waterford as Head of Travel Insurance for Australia and New Zealand, overseeing its Zurich Cover-More and Travel Guard operations. Waterford joins from AIG, where he was Global Head of Direct Marketing, Digital, and Partnerships, and brings over 25 years of experience in consumer insurance. He will work with partners across airlines, banking, retail, and travel sectors to develop strategy and performance in the region. Zurich acquired AIG’s global personal travel insurance and assistance business, including Travel Guard and Cover-More, in 2024.

Turkey Requires Mandatory Travel Insurance for E-Visa Applicants

South Africans applying for a Turkish e-visa must now purchase travel insurance as part of the online application process. Applicants are required to pay a $12 (R192) insurance fee, though the visa itself remains free. E-visas will not be issued unless the insurance payment is completed.
